A journey with a natural rhythm
This route links one of Central Europe's largest castle ruins, a walled medieval church settlement and a free royal town with its own moated castle and UNESCO-listed wooden church, all within about 40 minutes' drive of each other in Slovakia's Spiš region.

Practical tips
Good to know before you go
A car is the easiest way to link all three stops in one day. Spiš Castle keeps the longest hours in peak summer and considerably shorter hours outside it, so check the current season before setting a start time. Comfortable shoes help for the uphill approach to both Spiš Castle and Kežmarok Castle.
