A place shaped across centuries
The Sobášny palác was commissioned in 1601 by Palatine Juraj Thurzo specifically to host the wedding celebrations of his seven daughters, an arrangement described as unique in Slovakia. It stands within the wider Bytčiansky zámok complex, itself built between 1571 and 1574 for František Thurzo on Gothic water-castle foundations by the Italian master Giovanni Kilián de Siroth. The whole complex has been protected as a National Cultural Monument since 1970.
